Sources of Strength shines in first year of empowering students

Students from Sources of Strength

It's been a great first year for Sources of Strength!

"These wings stand for ways that we connect with people in both good times and times of trouble," Intervention Specialist Lori Oxley expressed. "We encourage others to take pictures with the wings in the background to show you are a person to connect with in our school. Our group is dedicated to helping people connect through the good and bad times. We believe that finding someone to connect with and talk to about your celebrations or problems is beneficial. Then make sure you include the #FPWarriorsofStrength."

"This year was a whirlwind! We started in October with an introduction to the program, some silly fun and games, and some serious discussion," Janice Frygier, eighth grade English teacher expressed. "After a series of full group meetings we split ourselves into campaigns who worked hard to promote the mission of Sources of Strength.  In February, we showed the ENTIRE SCHOOL what we've been up to and how to be proud of the strengths each and every person possesses and how to find that support when needed.  We finished the year out with the wings, showing we belong, all the student news videos reminding students weekly what the sources are, and how to get help.  I am so proud of all that you have accomplished.  We wish the seniors good luck, and hope our group grows stronger next year as we work toward the next chapter of Sources of Strength."
